The local area around Luce Bay Holiday Park & Dumfries and Galloway
This is a landscape steeped in ancient religion and early Christianity - make time to visit the mystical Torhouse Bronze Age stone circle and the 'Wren's Egg' standing stones near Monreith - easily accessible from our holiday parks in Wigtownshire. And the bay where the saint is said to have first set foot in Scotland is where you'll find St Ninian's Cave. The chapel dedicated to the saint lies in the Isle of Whithorn, a gorgeous little village lying at the southern tip of The Machars. No longer an island, it still boasts a very picturesque working harbour.

"I would recommend Luce Bay Holiday Park if you wish to have a peaceful holiday. The park is lovely and quiet, the views spectacular, and the staff are helpful, yet unobtrusive. I felt very relaxed after spending a week in this beautiful holiday park. There is an old coaching inn just outside the park if you wish a meal (or pint)....but check first, because food is not served every day. There are plenty of days out to enjoy if you so wish. Stranraer is a gorgeous little town with a fabulous chinese restaurant (The Hong Kong City). It's about 18 miles from the park, but well worth the drive. Port William is a quaint little town about 9 miles from the park. There are several places to eat out at, and it's a lovely place to walk around. Staying put on the park is another great option, for you never get fed-up drinking in the lovely view and partaking of the wonderful fresh air. I will go back to this park....I just loved its quiet, laid-back, restful ambience."

"A superb get away from it all, with unbelievable views across the bay but don't tell everyone! The lack of visitors is what makes the place special!"
