Domaine des Ormes has been transformed from a rundown chateau into one of France's finest campsites. It has been awarded Michelin 'five red tents' and is also a member of the 'Castels et Camping' group.

Description

Domaine des Ormes has been transformed from a rundown château into one of France’s finest campsites. It has been awarded Michelin ‘five red tents’ and is also a member of the ‘Castels et Camping’ group.

The old watermill is now the bar and the coach house and stables are now the golf club, while the par 72, 18 hole golf course winds its way through the woods and over the hill (handicap certificate required). The fabulous pool complex includes three pools and a superb waterpark with chutes beside the tree-lined fishing lake, and a new covered lagoon-style pool with wave pool. Our generous, grassy emplacements are scattered throughout the campsite and our Woodland Lodges are set in a secluded woodland setting - ideal if your looking for something a little different. There is something for everyone here; tennis, horse riding, bicycle hire, canoeing, pedalo hire and an extensive entertainment programme.

Local Area

Set in the 600 acre grounds of a château, this wooded parkland site is only four miles from the medieval town of Dol-de-Bretagne. Here you will find some restaurants, bars and a few shops. The sandy beaches of St Malo are 15 miles away. The delightful seaside resort of Dinard is a little further and is well worth a day trip.

A popular day trip is a visit to the famous Mont Saint Michel (22mls). Linked by a causeway to the mainland, you can learn about the history of the island on a guided tour. Along the coast from St Malo, walk at low tide to explore the Ile du Grand Bé.

Spacious Maxi Tent - Sleeps 5-6

Our Canvas Maxi Tent sleeps up to 6, and is the ideal choice for a true camping holiday experience. With its unique and spacious design, it is a great opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, but with all the creature comforts. The Maxi Tent is fully equipped with everything that you need for a great self-catering camping holiday, 21st century-style.

4 ring cooker, with grill and fridge with ice box. Crockery and cutlery is provided.
Living room
Spacious living area with side awning that can be rolled up (access may be restricted on some campsites), ideal for alfresco living on your camping holiday.
Bedrooms
Double room and second twin room that can be divided by a curtain. Fully, sprung beds. Double room has wardrobe rail with captive coat hangers.
Bathroom
Our campsites all offer toilet and shower facilities, located a short walk from our tent emplacements.

Our Classic mobile homes offer all the comforts of home at a very reasonable price. A natural choice for those new to mobile home living, they have 2 bedrooms with seating in the lounge/dining area that easily converts into an extra bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen, plus shower room and separate toilet.

There are 3 bedrooms, a shower room with toilet and sink, plus a roomy, open plan living area with comfy sofas and a fully-equipped kitchen.

Woodland Lodges offer a spacious, secluded woodland retreat, the ideal setting for a camping holiday.
Set away from the main campsite facilities, this inviting camping accommodation is spread over one floor and a mezzanine, and sleeps up to 7 people. The cottages are fully equipped with all the mod-cons, including a TV monitor & DVD player, and are fully heated throughout, especially ideal for early and late summer camping holidays. Outside, enjoy dining alfresco on the spacious terrace which surrounds the front of the cottage.
