The parc is a perfect launch pad for exploring this fantastic region, which can often be overlooked by families who don’t realise that the beaches are huge, the sea tends to be warmer than the Atlantic, and the history is fascinating for all ages.

The tranquil feel of this area will suit families and couples looking for a quieter holiday - it's particularly good for families with toddlers as the parc itself is quiet and safe.

Plus, Normandy is simple to reach from the UK. Hope on the fast craft from Portsmouth and you can reach the parc from Caen in around 45 minutes - hardly enough time to ask 'are we there yet?'

Omaha Beach Golf Club (22nd March - 31st October) If you fancy yourself as the next Tiger Woods, then Domaine de Litteau serves as an ideal base with Omaha Beach Golf Club only 25 mins away. With fantastic views over Omaha beach, this international 27 hole course features an 18 hole Scottish style links and an American style l'Etang course, an exciting 9 holes with lots of water. Many of the largest and fastest greens in France are to be found here!

Fishing
Fishing at Etangs de Planquery (22nd March - 4th November) - Trout lakes specialist in giant trout weighing up to 12kg - permit not required. Only 10 mins from the parc.


Places to visit
Mont St Michel and its bay is one of the “Wonders of the West” , a Gothic-style Benedictine abbey dedicated to the archangel St Michael, and the village that grew up in the shadow of its great walls (1hr)

The picturesque countryside of ‘Suisse Normande’ along the Gorges of the River Orne is a must do for lovers of mountain sports and fly fishing.


Specialties of the area
For those with a French appetite, why not spend a day sampling some of Normandy’s tastiest delights. Begin at the town of Camembert to sample its famous cheese, followed by lunch at Port en Bessin (try the oysters), or perhaps you’ll prefer prize winning Coquille Saint Jacques, washed down with a glass of Cider or Calvados (apple brandy) in the village of Gureon.

Pommeau is Normandy's own 'aperitif' and is made from a mix of cider and calvados using time honoured recipes.

Chalets

We have two types of French-style Chalets, each with electric oven, microwave and a 2 ring electric hotplate for cooking. All the Chalets have 2 bedrooms. One type sleeps 5 and the other type sleeps 7. All our chalets have a double bedroom and the 2nd bedroom has bunk-beds and a single bed. The chalets that sleep 7 have a double sofa bed in the lounge. The rooms are large.
