In a wonderfully scenic location in the heart of the Great Glen, this small group of south-facing Scandinavian pine log lodges all have superb panoramic views of Loch Lochy and the mountain range beyond. To the rear, Ben Tee rises to nearly 3000 ft, ideal for climbing and walking. The Great Glen long distance trail passes the entrance to the chalet park and is very popular with walkers, cyclists and mountaineers. Free fishing is available on Loch Lochy and the use of a boat with ghillie can be arranged at extra cost. Permits are also available for salmon and trout fishing on surrounding rivers and lochs. Water sports centre 3 miles and in the winter months, skiing and snow-boarding can be enjoyed at Nevis Range. This is also a good central base for exploring the majestic scenery and many historic castles and monuments which lie along the Great Glen from Inverness to Fort William. Horse-riding and golf are available at Fort Augustus, where cruises on the Caledonian Canal can also be enjoyed. For those interested in natural history, the area abounds with wildlife - deer, osprey, pine martens, golden eagles and buzzards, to name a few. The pine martens resident near the lodges regularly visit the verandahs to be fed their favourite titbits of a jam or peanut butter piece. Seasonal pub 1.5 miles, small shop 3 miles, general store and pubs at Invergarry (5 miles). The lodges are beautifully sited at the top of a steep slope and have been double glazed and refurbished throughout to create a warm, welcoming and very comfortable atmosphere. The last half mile to the lodges is on a rough track road. A stock-proof fence surrounds the 5 acre area in which the lodges are sited. The pebbled beach can be reached via a gate leading down a steep embankment to the lochside.Bracken is a 2 storey lodge with 1 double and 1 twin room with balcony off upstairs; ground floor open plan dining / living area with verandah off, well-equipped kitchen with double bedroom off, bathroom with power shower over bath. Each lodge has electric cooking and full heating. Fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, satellite television, DVD/CD player. Beds are made up for guests' arrival with linen and towels provided. Cot and high chair available on request. Garden furniture and barbecue provided. Coin-operated laundry facilities on site. Parking for each lodge.
