Local Area
From the awe-inspiring mountains of Snowdonia to the glorious beaches of the lovely, unspoilt Lleyn Peninsula and the west coast, you’ll discover a dramatic landscape steeped in Celtic culture and history.
Gwynedd’s majestic mountains and deep river valleys, magical forests and tumbling waterfalls create the perfect backdrop for walking, bird watching and the huge range of outdoor activities on offer in the Snowdonia National Park.
There are plenty of less energetic pleasures for you to discover in Gwynedd too. Instead of walking, why not ride to the summit on the Snowdon Mountain Railway and enjoy all that spectacular scenery in comfort?
At the pretty little seaside town of Porthmadog you can take a nostalgic steam train journey on the famous Ffestiniog Railway, and no stay in Gwynedd would be complete without a trip to the extraordinary, Italianate village of Portmeirion, world famous as the setting for the cult TV series, The Prisoner.

On arrival we had a problem with our accommodation. Even though it was late evening the problem was resolved very quickly, and the solution far exceeded our expectations. The person who dealt with our problem said that keeping customers satisfied was their main aim - and they certainly did this. A fantastic holiday in fantastic accommodation.

Y Noddfa park is a wonderful place to relax. Beautiful surroundings and it is in a good location to visit other places on the Llyn Peninsular and Snowdon amongst many more. The info pack at the lodge gives good information on places to visit, the best beaches, and eating & drinking places.

The site was very well taken care of, all outdoor facilities were very good. Very tranquil setting in woodland with wide open spaces for the children to run around and play in and a lovely stream running through too.

We cannot fault anything about the park, the accommodation, the staff, the wider area - and thankfully, the sunny weather. The welcome was exceptionally friendly - it was clear that us enjoying our stay was the number one priority; they really know the area and point out the best places to visit, particularly coastal walks and views. The accommodation was exceptional, being very well equipped - especially if you want to cook there; it was also extremely clean. Whilst the photos of the setting do lead you to believe the lodges are close together and near to the park road, they are not, they are well set out and your hot tub is very private. The park is very tranquil, although we did visit in low season, but if you want childrens entertainment, fun pubs and karaoke this is not the place for you. There is also a pool, gym and childrens playground within the park and there are plans for a spa in the near future.

We stayed in on of the Sanctuary VIP Lodges with our two children (10 and 7), and we had a private hot tub which along with the lodge was the ultimate in luxury equipped with everything you could possibly need. The whole park is fantastic in a lovely secluded and tranquil setting, with very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. The outdoor swimming pool was great for the children and the weather was great which was a bonus. The childrens play area and 5 a-side football pitch were also a great hit. There is nothing we can fault about the park, we had a fantastic weekend and will definitely be going back!

We have already passed on our recommendation to some friends, who have since stayed at this holiday park. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, in particular the grounds man who met us upon our very late arrival (11pm) and escorted us to our excellent accommodation. We loved every minute of our stay, and we will certainly be going back next year.
