The surrounding area bursts with activities, from the leisurely splendour of Glen Tanar to hill walking, fishing and golf. Glorious Balmoral Castle is just a short drive through magnificent countryside.

Our holiday lodges in Aberdeenshire are ideally located to explore this land of fairy-tale castles, wooded valleys and high mountains. And with the holiday resort of Aviemore and the magnificent Cairngorms within easy reach, it’s a firm favourite with all those seeking outdoor excitement.

Royal Deeside is scattered with historic castles, some of them ruins, some wonderful examples of the turreted confections so typical of Scotland. There are some lovely towns to discover on Deeside, from Balmoral, favourite summer haunt of the Royal Family, to Ballater, Aboyne and Braemar, scene of the famous highland gathering.

One of our Aberdeenshire lodge holidays is also the perfect excuse to discover the granite city of Aberdeen, now the oil capital of Europe. Provost Skene’s House, with its variety of period style rooms, is one of the highlights of the city, as are the many parks and gardens that bring colour to contrast with the grey stone of the buildings here. And for truly magnificent views, head to the Cairngorms National Park, the highest landmass in Britain, where, depending on the weather you can enjoy ski-ing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hillwalking and much else.
